Worth every penny, even without a promo code

we booked the Dining and Show Packages a few months out on their site, which saved us about 15% compared to the walk-up price, since there aren't really general public promo codes for these things. honestly, the entire experience was so good, from the cultural villages to the evening show, it felt like a steal. transportation from waikiki was included too, which saved us a big headache. it's way better than some of the other luaus i've been to like paradise cove. the only tiny thing was the Laie Temple Visitors Center Tour could have been a bit longer, but that's just a minor point. everything else was fantastic! 👍

Absolutely loved the Luau!

We booked the Ali'i Lu'au and it was fantastic! The food was so delicious, especially the kalua pig. Everything was set up beautifully, and the entertainment during dinner was wonderful. I had such a good time, the atmosphere was just perfect. I would absolutely go again and tell all my friends to check it out. Such a memorable night!

Mixed feelings on the package

We went with the Gateway Buffet Package, which included the villages and the evening show. The villages were really interesting, especially the Samoan and Hawaiian ones. Learning the ukulele was a fun extra. The buffet dinner was okay, a lot of choices but nothing really stood out as amazing. Service at dinner was a bit slow getting drinks. The Ha: Breath of Life show was definitely the highlight and made up for the average dinner. Booking online was fine, but I wish there were clearer instructions on where to go for each part of the package once we arrived. It was a bit confusing navigating everything at first.

Evening show experience

I booked the Evening Show Only Tickets for Ha: Breath of Life. The online booking process was straightforward, I picked my date and seat preference without any hassle. I received the confirmation email right away. Getting there was easy enough, and the show itself started on time. The performance was impressive, great costumes and storytelling. The seats were comfortable enough for the duration. No issues with the tickets at entry either. Overall, a solid experience for just the show.

Good value for a big day

I was looking for a good deal on a full day out in Oahu. The Islands of Polynesia Day Pass was a great price, especially booking ahead. I got a decent discount for doing that. It felt worth the money for how much there was to see and do. Didn't feel like I overpaid at all.

Are the villages open on Sundays? We're only there for a short time and Sunday is our only free day.

R Raj B. 1 month ago
Nope, they're closed on Sundays. Gotta plan for a different day.

Unfortuantely, no. The whole center is closed on Sundays. Learned that the hard way once!

What's the difference between the Ali'i Lu'au and the Gateway Buffet? Trying to pick the best dinner option.

L Lisa P. 2 months ago
Ali'i Lu'au is more of a traditional luau experience with the imu ceremony and entertainment while you eat. Gateway is a standard buffet, good food but less 'show'.

The luau is definitely the full experience, like the whole vibe. Gateway is more casual, good if you just want to eat and then head to the show.

I saw some local brochures with coupons for other luaus. Do they ever have coupons for PCC in those tourist mags?

C Carly P. 2 months ago
Nah, PCC rarely does those public coupons. Most of their discounts are for residents or military, or if you book way ahead online.

B Brett 2 months ago
Not really, I've looked before. Their discounts are usually tied to status like Kama'aina or for booking directly on their site in advance.

My grandma is coming with us, does PCC have a senior discount?

S Sophie 2 months ago
I think so, yeah. My grandparents got one when we went a couple years ago. Just check their booking page.

They usually do! Just select the senior rate option when you're buying tickets online.

Is the Polynesian Cultural Center really that far from Waikiki? Like, how long is the drive usually?

A Alex Ito 2 months ago
It's a bit of a drive, maybe an hour to an hour and a half depending on traffic. Totally worth it though!

C Chris 2 months ago
Yeah, it's up on the North Shore side. Not super close, but they offer transportation packages from Waikiki if you don't wanna drive.
